This Is Just To Say

I have eaten
the plums
that were in
the icebox

and which
you were probably
saving
for breakfast

Forgive me
they were delicious
so sweet
and so cold

I haven’t read that poem in so long. Thanks for reminding me of it. It made me smile.

I’m really enjoying the poems you are posting. This one made me laugh because last semester my junior in high school had to memorize 10 poems. As you may imagine, this one made the cut because it was short. :-)

That is the only cheerful poem on my lists of favorites.
    Love it, love the shot.
