More of a documentary photograph than an artistic one, but pretty representative of what’s been going on with me the last, well, even more intensively the last few weeks, but for a while before that.

I didn’t know this book existed, but I’m not surprised to learn that it does. Hope it’s helpful!

Love the light on your face. Do they have this book for high school graduates? I’m thinkin’…

I’ve been eyeing that book for a while now. Would you pretty please let us know what you think of it when you’re finished?

I believe I’m going to check that book out; looks useful for where I am now (if indeed being a grad student/assistant and a semester as an adjunct count as a career stage…).

I’ll try to offer a more thorough assessment in the near future, but in the meantime it is well worth checking out. It occurred to me as I was reading the other day that it might really be worth reading even if you have no doubts about staying in the academy, some interesting perspective on the skills you gain and on how best to explain those skills for non-academic purposes.

I may be approaching a return to the *job* market in the next couple of years, so I can imagine what you are feeling and going through.

I love the colors and lighting in the shot.

That book was incredibly helpful for me when I considered leaving the profession. Even though I ended up getting a tenure-track job at FSU, it helped me to define myself as an independent agent of sorts and not entirely subject to the whims and forces of the market.

Hope you find it as helpful as I did.

I was wondering what was in the book… I hope you share later! Cool shot for capturing your journey.
