February Retrospective

February Mosaic, originally uploaded by Scrivenings.
I don’t have the energy to say too much insightful about the past month of photo-taking, -posting, -viewing, and -commenting-upon. I’ve taken some pictures this month of which I’m really proud, especially some of the pictures of Ella and Chloe, but also the Valentine’s Day picture and the one of the lily. Looking at the mosaic, what stands out at me is how much of this month has been taken up with art projects–I don’t think it’s an accident that pushing myself to take these pictures every day has also helped me to open up creatively in a bunch of other ways.
I am glad to’ve kicked off the shower curtain meme this month, but sorry that I haven’t (yet?) managed to get in on the gummi bear action.
It’s been a pleasure looking at so many great shots by you guys who’re also 365ing it. I can already see myself improving as a photographer in so many ways. Thanks.
I’m really enjoying your photos, and love this monthly mosaic!
I have to say that although I love your shots in general and your art projects are wonderful too, your pictures of the girls are unbeatable. I mean that as a compliment to the photographer and the dad.
Thanks to both of you.
Sometimes I feel a bit like the odd one in our immediate circle of 365ers because I’m taking pictures of myself and my kids. So thanks for saying that, Overread.
Scrivener, I love your girl shots. The trampoline shot is my fave. I have an entire series of trampoline shots from last year.
So keep taking those cuties.
Also, I loved the Chloe shot of her asleep taken under the table on her mother’s lap. It’s in your flickr, but it really resonated with me. We’ve seen that particular pose multiple times.
You do a great job.
Oh that’s not on a trampoline, that’s just Ella jumping up and down. I was lying on the ground and shooting up as she jumped. We were waiting for my first rehearsal to start up and the kids were running around and then jumping, so I said “here, let me take a picture” and they had fun trying to jump high for me.
